AAA In Denver: Safety Advocacy, Community Events, And Local Services On The Move

The American Automobile Association (AAA) continues to play an active role in Denver’s transportation safety, legislative advocacy, and community engagement, according to recent releases and local activity from AAA Colorado. AAA — one of the largest membership-based, not-for-profit organizations in the U.S. — provides roadside assistance, travel planning, insurance services, and traffic safety outreach to millions of members nationwide, including thousands in the Denver area.

Backing Key State Traffic Legislation

In March 2025, AAA Colorado publicly voiced its support for Colorado House Bill 25-1243, a measure introduced by state legislators that focuses on traffic safety reforms and improved mobility protections. The organization’s endorsement highlights AAA’s role as a policy advocate for safer streets throughout the Denver metro and across the state.

Ongoing Concern Over Pedestrian Safety

AAA’s safety research has underscored a persistent issue in Colorado: a sharp increase in pedestrian fatalities. A AAA study found that pedestrian deaths in Colorado have surged significantly over the last decade, a trend that has drawn concern from Denver officials, traffic safety advocates, and AAA alike. The report points to several high-risk arterials in Denver — such as Colfax Avenue and Broadway — and calls for infrastructure redesigns that prioritize pedestrian safety, including reduced speed limits and improved crosswalk visibility.

AAA’s local advocacy aligns with Denver’s broader Vision Zero goals, aimed at eliminating traffic deaths by enhancing street design, traffic enforcement, and public awareness campaigns.

Community Outreach And Member Services

AAA Colorado isn’t just involved in advocacy — it also actively engages with the community. In April 2025, the organization announced a Student Enrichment Forum to be held in Lakewood, aimed at educating young people on driving safety and responsible mobility.

Locally in Denver, the AAA Denver Cherry Creek office at 1350 S. Colorado Blvd. continues to serve members with a full suite of services, including travel planning, passport photo and international driving permits, insurance consultations, and auto-related assistance — all under one roof.

Looking Ahead

As AAA moves into 2026, the organization’s focus remains on steering the region toward safer roads and more informed drivers. With legislative advocacy, safety research, and community outreach at the forefront, AAA’s presence in Denver reflects ongoing efforts to address pressing mobility issues while supporting its long-established member services.
